Just finishing up an entire week off work during which I did not really update this blog. There wasn't all that much interesting to write about for most of the week, though.

Pirateboy had his first day of school on Tuesday - he is now in grade two! Craziness.

Spent the rest of the week cleaning. Seriously. The good news is that the house is almost spotless now. I haven't had this clean of a kitchen since before we moved in. My goal is to actually get our old dishes booted and to put all the shiny new stuff from our wedding two years ago out and start using it. I have a stack of boxes a foot deep and four feet high that is all unopened kitchen-y wedding presents in our basement. I have been too lazy to reorganize the kitchen to put them out until now. Very, very sad.

House was completely cleaned (minus one room and one closet) just in time for all our visitors this weekend with Thammuz and Ninjababy's triple-three birthday bash. Ninjababy was very, very excited about turning three. She thanked everyone, except her two honourary uncles who sneaked out during the kids' party. They thought she wouldn't notice and they could get away from the kids for a bit, but when they got back, she sternly looked up at them and said, 'YOU MISSED IT!' *laugh* Everything else went well, though. Next up is prepping for Pirateboy's birthday. A lot more extravagant: our soon-to-be-seven year old wants a giant costume party for his October birthday. I think I might try and rent a place to avoid cleaning up the mess afterward!
